Denim?

I'm sure I'm not alone in hating the process of jean shopping. I'm generally too tall for most stores or need them to go up another size or 2 to fit in them. Most of my denim comes from Lane Bryant and I have 3 pairs of skinnies from Forever21.
HOWEVER...
I need more jeans! I love the Tripp brand from Torrid, they fit me like a glove. I wore them so much they went from black to charcoal. But they're expensive. Same for Lane Bryant. Lane Bryant's right fit are my fave, I'm the red triangle cut. I like my Forever21 skinnies and they're the best priced ones. I've had them for almost a year now. However, they sit low in the back, especially when I sit down. Ughhh.
But now I'm considering ASOS Curve's jeans. I've been hearing good things about them but I've also heard you need to go up a size or 2 in them. Idk. I just need some more jeans before it gets too cold down here!
If anyone has any suggestions, PLEASE let me know. Also, if you've tried ASOS Curve for their bottoms specifically please let me know! Have a blessed Sunday!

Workplace

I went on an interview today and wanted to take some pics of what I wore. Generally, I stick with a pair of black pants and a solid colored top with flats. Today however, I decided to do more of a brown-creme palette with accents of gold. I had already decided on the top and everything else just came together seamlessly.

My hair on the other hand..I love my curls. HOWEVER, when I took them out of the 8 braids I had done last night, the back was super cute. The front was a frizzy, awkward mess. I decided to pin the front 2 sides back and call it a day.

I didn't have anyone around to take a picture of me so I had to resort to a mirror photoshoot...at least people can see the outfit.

Both are from New York & Company. The front of the top with the ruffles and the back with the zipper..I love it. The cardigan has this cute animal pattern. It's 3/4 sleeve.

Cardigan from New York and Company; shoes from Target (don't judge, they've been loved a lot over the years aka worn alot!)

I love the front of this top!

FNO + Football + Baby Shower

Quick Update!
This was my first time going to an FNO event out here in Dallas on Thursday. I went out to the Galleria with a friend of mine and we mostly walked around just browsing the stores. Models traipsed through the mall for impromptu runway shows and stores were full of people eating, drinking and taking pics. Heels were in abundance! I felt so..not cute because I had on some gold flats lol.

Saturday I went up to my college alma mater to see some friends that came back for the first home football game and friends who are in their last semester/year. We hung out, participated in Endless Shrimp at Red Lobster (which was amazing! and we had an even more amazing waiter!) and laughed til we almost cried. It was a great ending to a pretty bland week. The top I wore was specifically off the shoulder, from ASOS Curve, and it was PERFECT. The fabric wasn't too thin, it actually sat off my shoulder and was definitely cut for a plus size woman, rather than just a big shirt. The sleeves were cuffed and I got a lot of compliments on it.

On Sunday I went to the baby shower for the same friend I was with Thursday night. I decided to try out some newer pieces I purchased from Forever21 and Target and an old dark purple cardigan I bought a while ago. I threw it all together in about 5 minutes and surprisingly it turned out really cute (in my opinion at least). The skirt had pockets! And the shoes weren't too bad to walk around in.

Website! Featured Blog!

Sunday night I decided to make a website! It's very simple and not to snazzy for now. I wanted to see how many hits I would get and if I'm able to keep up with it before adding anything extra. It has all my quotes on there and a little info about me, along with a way to contact me for more information. You can find that here.

I also ordered my business cards because I just felt unprofessional always having to whip out my phone or tear slips of paper apart to write down how to contact me. They're very bold and cute, and have all my information on the front and back of them. I'm hoping to have them by next week so I can start passing them out.

ALSO, I met a woman (thanks Mrs. Marilou!) at my sister's church yesterday who does the social outreach/media for a beauty advisor named Helen Gibson-Nicholas. Her site has tons of information about skincare, hair, and products. If you are needing help with beauty, be sure to check the site out! You can find out more information about the site here.

Working in the fashion industry requires you to take a LOT in to your own hands, especially living here in the South where people talk more about sports and agriculture rather than the upcoming New York Fashion Week. If you choose this career path, make sure you have passion that will keep pushing you to be successful in all that you do!

Golden Brown

Golden Brown

So for the last 2 days I have been OBSESSING over Polyvore! How come no one mentioned this to me before?? This is a dream come true for someone who eventually wants to work in the fashion styling business. I've been creating dream outfits, including this one. It's a way easier way for me to bring together some of my favorite trends/pieces in one setting without having to cut them out of magazine and paste them in to my fashion inspiration notebook I've been updating all year. I'll probably still use my inspiration notebook every once in awhile but Polyvore is AMAZING. it has all the latest pieces in the system already with where to buy them and how much money each item retails for. Idk maybe I'm late to the game in finding this out but I love it. You'll be seeing more of these posts so look out! And feel free to check it out for yourself. If you have an account, find me on there, my name is shoppingstarbucks! Happy early Labor Day :)
P.S. I just created my website today! Once I tweak a few things on there I will post the link! Super excited. Also, I ordered my business cards (finally) so be on the lookout for a post about those as well.
